Tefillah - Va'eira - Emes: The Fulfillment of a Promise
by Hauer, Rabbi Moshe
During the plague of
Tzefardeah
(frogs), Moshe davens to Hashem for the plague to cease. There are two interesting features of this tefillah: Moshe's certainty that it will be fulfilled, and the fact that he asks Pharaoh to specify when he would like it to be over. At this time, Hashem is fulfilling the promise that He made to the Avos, and is exhibiting His strength and power while demonstrating that He keeps His word. Therefore, Moshe's tefillah is not out of place, as it is coming in the context of fulfillment of promise, and revelation of Hashem.
