Shemini - Kashrus and Holiness - 7th Aliyah
by Hauer, Rabbi Moshe
Parshas Shemini is the center point of the Torah, and the focal point of the parsha is about being holy. This parsha discusses many of the rules of
tumah
and
tahara
, ritual purity and impurity. Many of the laws in this topic are difficult to understand and relate to. Our purpose in this world is to imitate Hashem and in a sense become G-dlike. These laws and statutes teach us the parameters by which we can function in our physical world and uplift ourselves to become more like Hashem.
