Have You Ever Wondered Why You Have a Belly-Button?
Speaker:   Alter, Rabbi Avrohom M.
Series: Parsha, Torah Portion
Lecture Details:  Surgical sites, especially on infants, always close up, often never even leaving a scar or remnant. Yet, the Almighty ordained that the navel always be prominent in the center of a persons body. Why? The Torah tells us that the Meraglim (spies) died in a "befitting" death, part of which was vermin crawled down their tongues and entered their bodies through their navel. What was the measure for measure of the worms entering their navel? And why do all human beings still have a navel?
