Parshas Shelach - Yehoshua & Calev - Two Connections to the Land
Speaker:   Hauer, Rabbi Moshe
Series: Weekly Parsha Shiur, 5769
Lecture Details:  Yehoshua and Calev each resisted the rest of the meraglim (spies), with their own unique strengths. As the student of Moshe, Yehoshua was a receiver, and therefore Moshe davened for him that he should not be convinced by the meraglim. Calev was a leader, who went to daven in Chevron so that he should not fall with the meraglim, and should be able to see that Hashem is the only one to protect us. Although it may seem to appear as if being in Eretz Yisroel is not possible, Yehoshua and Calev remind us to focus on Hashem's ability to do anything, as long as we place our trust in Him.
