Project Genesis
7 - Vayechi - Nothing Goes To Waste
Speaker:   Hauer, Rabbi Moshe
Series: Women's Institute of Torah Parsha Shiur, 5773
Lecture Details:  Throughout Yaakov's life, there are many examples showing that he is very preoccupied with ensuring that all of his children remain righteous and alive until the end of his days. Yaakov Avinu was the first of the Avos (forefathers) who had all of his children continue as Jews. He was working to repair the shleimus (wholeness) of the world that was corrupted with Adam's sin with the Etz Hada'as (Tree of Knowledge). Before the sin was committed, the world was in a perfect state, with no waste. Yaakov was very concerned that none of his children should be lost to this framework since he was striving toward a level of completeness, with every child of his physically and spiritually part of continuing as G-d fearing individuals.
