Project Genesis
8 - Mikeitz - Yosef, Egypt & His Brothers- Fourth Aliyah
Speaker:   Hauer, Rabbi Moshe
Series: Weekly Parsha Shiur, 5773 - Parsha Plan
Lecture Details:  In the fourth aliyah, we learn about the famine beginning, leaving Mitzayim as the only land with bread. Yosef was in charge of all of the food, which led him to have a significant influence both on Mitzrayim and on his brothers. There is a recurring theme of “bread” in the story, and we explore some of the deeper level of significance of bread, as the staple of life and as a tool to see the hand of Hashem. These themes are expressed differently in the lives of Yosef and his brothers, and we study the contrast and lessons.
