Moshe Rabbeinu is told to gather the people to fight against Midian-this is his last command to give over before he dies. He rushes to do the will of Hashem, not considering his own death, just as he has done throughout his whole life. Similarly, Dovid Hamelech is willing to die so that the house of Hashem can be built sooner. This is the selfless goal that we need to keep in mind as we daven for the geulah. We want Hashem's presence back in the world for His sake, and with the coming of the geulah-the continuation of Malchus Beis Dovid-we will come back to that state. |
