Tefillah - Ki Seitzei - The Effects of Transgressing Hashem's Will
Speaker:   Hauer, Rabbi Moshe
Series: Weekly Parsha Shiur, 5767: Tefillah
Lecture Details:  Although the Torah permits a soldier to take an eishes yifas toar, there are bad consequences that may come from that action. Any mitzvah that we do has 2 components that can make us more G-dly- the mitzvah itself, and the closeness and connection that we have with Hashem because of the action. The mitzvah of tefillah is coming close to Hashem itself, unlike other mitzvos, where the closeness is a result of the action. In these auspicious days, we work to connect to Hashem through our tefillah, using the opportunities of proximity to establish a real relationship with Him.
