Tzaraas is a mitzvah that will never happen outside of Eretz Yisrael because having an item demonstrate the presence or absence of Hashem can only take place in our chosen land. In Eretz Yisrael, Hashem's presence is the actual fabric and the actual life of the land. Tzaraas is a manifestation of that. Tzaraas only takes place in land where the physical world absorbs the shechina, the presence of Hashem. It is when that manifestation fails that the house, garment, or flesh looks different because it has no soul. |
