Vayakhel/Pikudei - The Personal & Communal Mikdash
Speaker:   Hauer, Rabbi Moshe
Series: Women's Institute of Torah Parsha Shiur, 5768
Lecture Details:  At the end of Sefer Shemos, we conclude the discussion of the geulah process with the revelation of Hashem in the midst of the Jewish people. This process also includes elements of transformation between yechidim, individuals who served Hashem (the Avos), to a tzibbur- becoming a unified nation. The mishkan itself is an expression of this difference-a unified sanctuary to serve Hashem, as opposed to the revelation of Hashem's presence within each individual home, as it was in the time of the Avos. Although this centralized Hashraas Hashechina (resting of the Divine presence) can be viewed as a downgrade, there are also elements of community and togetherness that can accomplish what cannot be done individually.
