In Parshas Emor, there are many laws about Kohanim. A Kohen with a physical blemish cannot serve in the Beis Hamikdash, showing us the importance of shleimus in the emissaries of Hashem. When we serve Hashem, we want our service of Him to encompass all aspects of our lives, spiritual and physical. We try to beautify the mitzvos and build the mikdash for Hashem in a magnificent manner. Now that we no longer have the Beis Hamkidash, we need to work hard to make sure that our tefillah still spills over into our physical realities, making Hashem more tangible to us in our daily lives. |
