Parshas Beshalach- The Amalek Gap- 7th Aliyah
Speaker:   Hauer, Rabbi Moshe
Series: Weekly Parsha Shiur, 5776 - Parsha Plan
Lecture Details:  At the end of Parshas Beshalach in the 7th Aliyah we have a war with Amalek. We would have thought that the victory at Krias Yam Suf, the splitting of the sea, would bring us straight to Har Sinai to receive the Torah, as all of the nations were trembling and afraid of the Jewish People. Amalek however, decided to start up with Bnei Yisroel. The war that we fought against Amalek was a physical battle, fought with our hands, yet at the same time, Moshe Rabbeinu was davening, his hands raised in prayer. Our job in this world is to try to bridge that gap between heaven and earth through tefillah, prayer, as that is what will enable us to eradicate Amalek and ultimately build the final Beis Hamikdash.
