Effectively Increase Jewish Identity by Teaching Jewish History in a New Way
Speaker:   Amsel, Rabbi Dr. Nachum
Series: Convention 2008
Lecture Details:  Convention 2008 For most Jews, Jewish history is boring at best, or even depressing at worst. Rabbi Berel Wein and the Destiny Foundation have developed a new methodology for teaching Jewish history -- for both adults and children -- that not only uses their newly produced media, but involves every person in the process. Jewish identity is heightened and each individual feels involved as a result of this experience. In this session, Rabbi Dr. Amsel will explain both the theory of this methodology and how to use it in practice. The material is appropriate Jews of all ages, and can be used either as a one-time showing to trigger new people to learn and explore their Jewish identity, as a mini-course, or as a full-fledged Jewish History course within the context of World History. After completing the training in this session, every participant can walk out with the media and teaching materials needed to implement the first 22 sessions of this new curriculum (for free).
