34 - Devarim - Devarim & Chazon- First Aliyah
Speaker:   Hauer, Rabbi Moshe
Series: Weekly Parsha Shiur, 5770 - Parsha Plan
Lecture Details:  Parshas Devarim is always read on Shabbos Chazon. In the first aliyah, we read about the rebuke that Moshe gave to Bnei Yisroel, naming the places where they angered Hashem. Originally, we were supposed to enter Eretz Yisroel without having to fight a war, straight from Har Sinai. However, with the sin of the meraglim, we created a separation between us and Hashem and distanced ourselves from the open connection that we had previously. On Tisha B'av, we mourn the lack of connection and cry because of our unnatural state, being outside of Eretz Yisroel. When we cry the proper tears, Hashem will bring us back to where we are meant to be.
