In the final installment of this four part series, we discuss another aspect of brachos, in addition to yiras shamayim, ahavas Hashem, and creating the opportunity for more of Hashem's strength to be manifest on earth. When we say brachos, we are acquiring the item and gaining permission to use it. Without saying a bracha, it is considered as if one took something that was specifically consecrated to Hashem. When we recognize that everything in this world is His, and our use for it is only to serve Him, we can properly use the items in this world for their intended purpose. |
