Tefillah - Beshalach - Transcendent Tefillah
Speaker:   Hauer, Rabbi Moshe
Series: Weekly Parsha Shiur, 5767: Tefillah
Lecture Details:  As the Jews stand right before Krias Yam Suf crying out to Hashem, He tells them not to daven. This puzzling statement teaches a fundamental message about relating to Hashem. Hashem does not want the Jews to be concerned with the physical details of winning against the Egyptians; rather, this is the time to engage in a completely spiritual relationship with Hashem as He takes care of the physical concerns. It is with this understanding that we connect geulah (redemption) to tefillah, praising Hashem with the shira (song) that Bnei Yisroel sang after Krias Yam Suf with newfound clarity and connection.
