Communication: Speech: Turning Superficial Connections into Deep-Rooted Ones (2/6/11)
Speaker:   Bergstein, Rabbi Eliyahu
Series: Philosophy
Lecture Details:  (Last part of our Day of Learning: “We Are All Connected.â€? Are we? Sunday, February 6 The Torah refers to humans as a “medaberâ€? – a speaker. It is what differentiates us from all the other creations. We not only have this capability, we have a basic need to communicate - it is the way we connect with others. But in an era that can be marked for its advancement in communication technology, when methods of communications are so abundant and sophisticated, when supposedly we can “reach out and touch someoneâ€? so easily, not only do we have “virtualâ€? friends, we seem to have virtual friendships and relationships as well. In this day of learning, we’ll explore the Torah methods of communication leading to a deep and personal connection and maintaining it in this electronic age.)
