The revelation at Sinai was accompanied by thunder lighting, the sound of the shofar and fire. Why? What did G-d want to evoke in the Jewish people by creating such a foreboding atmosphere? This class explores why we are commanded to remember the day we were given the Torah. What the “experience” of Sinai gave the Jewish people. And why G-d repeated the first two commandments again, even after the Jewish people asked for Moshe to acts as their intermediary. This class is based on the teachings of the Maharal and the Gaon of Vilna.
