Darchei Noam - Bechukosai - Yearning Our Way Out of the Golus
Speaker:   Hauer, Rabbi Moshe
Series: Weekly Parsha Shiur, 5768: The Pleasant Ways of Torah
Lecture Details:  We specifically read about the blessings and curses in Parshas Bechukosai before Shavuos, to teach us about the consequential nature of the Torah that we are preparing to accept. The blessings describe the idyllic life in times of geulah, while the curses describe the hardships of golus. Instead of the togetherness and peace that we will experience in geulah, we will be scattered throughout the world, with each individual needed to fend for themselves. Although these curses are describing a reality, we need to yearn to leave this golus, and work to achieve a unity even in our current exiled state.
