Lecture Details: |
In the first part of this 6 part series, we discuss one element of responsible and meaningful friendship, following the model of Moshe Rabbeinu. Moshe carried the burden together with Bnei Yisroel, even though he was on his own in the palace and did not need to concern himself with their welfare. There are two steps to this: first, one needs to look and be aware of his friend's trouble, and he also needs to join him with his heart, through feeling the other's pain. When we share the burden with our friend, we are providing tremendous relief, as he would otherwise need to carry the burden alone. |
