The patterns established in Sefer Bereishis unfold throughout history. The revelation of Hashem's presence at Har Sinai relates to Akeidas Yitzchok. There are many connections between these two events. Both include a shofar, inspired Yiras Shamayim, involve an element of techiyas hameisim (revival of the dead), contain a notion of trust, and involve an offering of self. Both of these significant events involve giving over one's self to Hashem; recreating ourselves through the strength of the commitment to do the will of Hashem. |
