In the first aliyah of Parshas Bereishis, the entire story of creation is discussed. During the first six days, Hashem created different, disparate elements, which all come together with the purpose of creation, Adam. On Shabbos, the distinct days of the week join together with a focal point and purpose. Our job in the world is to bring it back to a point where everyone recognizes that Hashem is One, although at times things may not seem to fit in with that picture. |
