When Yaakov gathers his children together, he wants to reveal the end of days but the Shechinah(Divine Presence) is removed from him. He fears that this is due to a lack of emunah (faith), but his children assure him that they all believe in Hashem by saying Shema Yisroel. Although they are unified in their emunah, they are not unified as a group. Yaakov tells them about their strengths in the brochos, and if they were a group, they would each be able to access the other's strength. However, this was lacking, and therefore Yaakov could not reveal to them the end of days. It is not enough to be unified in emunah-Hashem Elokeinu Hashem Echad-we need the aspect of Shema Yisroel as well, that we are unified as a group of Yisroel. |
