"40 years in the wilderness; your clothes did not wear out upon you, and your shoe did not wear out old upon your foot...You have not eaten bread..."
"You shall dwell in sukkos for seven days... in order that future generations may know that I caused the Israelite people live in sukkos when I brought them out of the land of Egypt."
Question: Why is it that when Hashem relates His loving kindness, caring for the Bnei Yisroel in the desert, He points out for a full 40 years their clothes did not wear out, nor their shoes while they ate Mana etc - yet when it comes to the protective clouds of glory (which also protected for 40 years) He only stresses they remember the period of time "when I brought them out of Mitzrayim"? |
