Lecture Details: |
After the war, Mike Tress worked wholeheartedly to help refugees re-establish their lives. He visited DP camps, sleeping among the refugees to show that he came to be with them and help. Many Roshei Yeshiva and Chassidic Rebbes were brought to America through Mike's work. He established jobs, found housing for refugees, and worked tireless to get more visas and affidavits, in order to open the door for more people to come to America. He brought back the famous tune for Ani Maamin from the death camps, and would always repeat a story that demonstrated a Jew's unwavering faith even in times of intense pain and tragedy. |
