After the redemption from Egypt, the Jewish nation builds a mishkan where the primary purpose is to bring Korbanos, offerings. These Korbanos are part of the contrast between exile, where serving Hashem in this manner was off limits, and redemption, where they can serve Hashem correctly. In Egypt, there was a lack of hierarchy and the Egyptians viewed animals as being above. The ticket for leaving Egypt and meriting to get the land of Israel is with the Korban Pesach and the other future Korbanos which disprove this Egyptian belief. When bringing a Korban, we are showing that we are acting appropriately and therefore dominate the other animals. |
