When we daven, we express our trust in Hashem. This trust does not tell us to be confident in a positive outcome; rather, we believe that Hashem's guiding hand makes everything happen, no matter the result. There is another, higher level of bitachon when a person is deeply connected to Hashem. Such a person has an innate sense of what will happen because of his close connection. In this week's parsha, the Kohen tells the warriors not to be afraid of battle-when it is understood that they are fighting completely for Hashem, they can be assured of their safety and salvation, as they have place themselves completely in His hands. |
