The Torah devotes an entire chapter to the death of Sarah, and to the negotiations involved in procuring the Cave of Machpeilah as her final resting place. The children of Chet, who owned the plot of land and sold it to Avraham, are mentioned 10 times in the parsha. This class will describe the reason for this according to the Eben Ezra, Ramban, Malbim, and “Oznayim LaTorah”(Rabbi Zalman Sorotskin) and will prove that the negotiations reveal the uniqueness of Avraham and Sara, and the way in which they taught the people of their generation to deal with spiritual matters.
