The power of speech as a connector and unifier is the unique power and charge of man. On the night of Pesach, we connect to our ancestors who left Mitzrayim through our koach hadibbur (power of speech). This unique power gives us the ability to join together and become one, unlike the metzora (leper), who uses this power harshly, to divide. Our freedom from Mitzrayim is manifest in our ability to come together as a people, which we are able to do through our power of speech. |
