Throughout the story of Yetzias Mitzrayim, Hashem says that He will strike His hand against Mitzrayim through signs and miracles, so that both Mitzrayim and the Jewish people will recognize Hashem. The 10 makkos (plagues), displaying Hashem's hand against Mitzrayim, relate to the 10 ma'amaros, the statements that Hashem made to bring the world into being. The 10 makkos give a chance for the 10 statements of Hashem to be heard once again, as Bnei Yisroel make the transition from relating to Hashem's hand to the elevated level of conversation with Him when they received the Torah. |
