Prior to Bnei Yisroel's famous words of Naaseh V'nishmah (we will do and we will hear), Moshe reads the Sefer Habris. There are many explanations of what comprises this Book of the Covenant, and what solidifies this bond between us and Hashem. Different approaches explain the Sefer Habris to be a book of mitzvos, the study of Torah to deepen connection, the exclusivity of the connection that we have with Hashem, and the knowledge that Hashem is bound together with us through our ups and downs. The last interpretation explains the ultimate bris--the close connection and intertwined relationship that is our covenant with Hashem.
