In the 3rd aliyah of Parshas Shemini, there are two descriptions of the fire of Hashem. One is the fire that came out to accept the korban, while the other is the fire that consumed Nadav and Avihu. These two fires express the balance of ahavah(love) and yirah (fear). While ahavah is portrayed through expressiveness and open connection, yirah demands necessary restraint. We need to balance these two elements in serving Hashem, both in the mishkan itself, and as we daven for the return of the mikdash.
