In the last aliyah (section) the Torah completes the discussion about the forbidden relationships and says that the land of Eretz Yisrael spits out its inhabitants who violate their purity. In contrast to those living in other lands, our relationship to G-d is different when in Eretz Yisrael because He is directly watching over the land and those in it. Other lands have an angel as an intermediary. The moment of redemption from Egypt was when there was no longer an intermediary between Hashem and the Jewish people. Being in the presence of Hashem can be dangerous however it is the ultimate connection and relationship to Him. The expression of a relationship is the removal of the go-between. We need to be in the world of appreciating that value in order to have a true relationship with Hashem. |
